A psychologist's observation

Wednesday, February 12, 2003 - Twenty-eight session with Orlando Ramsey

Orlando is at a very critical and confused point in his life. He is starting to cope with his chronic illness by confiding in Professor Manresa. In part, he is worried about how much of a burden he is to James as well as still being attracted to Manresa.

Nothing of direct notice stands out in his journal. He is writing in it more frequently which seems to help prevent any emotional repressions.

It is clear though that he is entering a state of depression far more serious than any other one he’s had so far. I’ve suggested that he spend some of his time volunteering to keep himself busy. I think the good works will help his self-esteem.
