bio:
My name is Josef Nguyen, and I am a third-year English PhD student at U.C. Davis. In addition to books, I also really like science.
I am a graduate of the University of the Pacific, in Stockton, California. I received a B.S. in Computer Science and a B.A.English in 2007. I then attended U.C. Irvine, receiving an M.S. in Arts Computation Engineering (A.C.E.) in 2009.
My main academic interests include but are not limited to:
- the problem of administration, particularly in relation to science and technology
- municipal and global infrastructures
- science and technology studies
- theories of expertise
- promissory, futuristic, and speculative discourses
- ecocriticism
- posthumanism
- intersections of epistemology and ethics
- accidents, disasters, and crises
- spatial practices and digital technologies: video games, ubiquitous computing, and locative media
